titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PREPARING CHROMOGENIC MIXTURES, AND COPY SHEETS INCLUDING SUCH MIXTURE
abstract Colourless marking composition which becomes coloured on contact with an acidic substance contains two colour formers, first being a fluorane of general formula: (in which R is H, nitro, or amino, R is H, methyl, ethyl, R2 is phenyl which may contain p-methyl or p-ethyl or is a -CH2-R3 group where R3 is H, phenyl, acetyl, benzoyl, methoxy, allyl, carboethoxy, N,N-dimethylamino or methyl, when R2 is -CH2R3, R is H. The second colour former is either 3:3-bis-(1-ethyl-2-methyl-indol-3-yl)phthalide, 3'-diethylamino-6':7'-methylenedioxy fluorane, or fluoranes of formula above with R=H and a) instead of NR1R2 a-N(R4)COCH3 gp. where R4 is H, methyl, ethyl, phenyl or o-carbonethoxyphenyl or b) the 6':7' positions being filled by a benzo or pyridino group. The ratio of the 1st to 2nd colour former is from 1 to 5.1. Comp. is used for pressure sensitive papers. It gives better light resistance and the developed colour can be copied by xerographic methods.
