abstract | A 1-organothio-aldoxime of formula R1-C(SR2)=NOH (I) is prepd. from an aldoxime of formula R1CH=NOH (II) by halogenation and reaction of the prod. with a mercaptide of formula R2SM. Reaction si in an aq. soln. contg. about 5-75 wt.% of ethyleneglycol, glycerol, sorbitol, erythritol or arabitol at -10 degrees to +15 dgrees C. In the formulae, R1 and R2 each is alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or phenylalkyl, all of which are opt. substituted by alkyl, halo, alkoxy, cyano, nitro or dialkyl amino. R2SM is a mercaptide salt. Use of the above solvent results in a more effective process with increased yields. (I) are e.g. intermediates for insecticides, nematocides and miticides. |
