abstract Polyester coating material, esp. for insulating electric wires, contains units derived from (1) 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, or its dialkyl esters or halides, opt. with 0-10 mole %, of another aromatic dibasic acid, aliphatic dibasic acid, or their alkyl esters or halides; and (2) tris(2-hydroxyethyl)isocyanurate, opt. with 0-60 mole % of other di- or trihydric alcohols. (1) forms 40-50 equiv. % of the material. Prod. has excellent resistance to heat and thermal shock and good mechanical props.
