titleOfInvention | Polyenes prodn - for reacting with polythiols to yield curable resins |
abstract | Polyenes of formula (I): are prepd. by reacting, in an inert anhydrous atmosphere, at 0-120 degrees C, (II) an isocyanate selected from methyl, ethyl, butyl, octadecyl, cyclohexyl, pehynl, 1-naphthyl, vinyl, allyl, 9-decenyl, or toluenesulphonyl isocyanate, or methylene, tetramethylene, hexamethylene, 2-methylhexamethylene, 3-methylhexamethylene, 2,4-dimethylhexamethylene, 2,2,4-trimethylhexamethylene, methylcyclohexene, isophorone, phenylene, tolylene, xylylene, naphthylene, fluorene or sulphonyl diisocyanate, or 4,4'-methylenebis(cyclohexyl isocyanate) or methylenebis(phenyl isocyanate), (III) allyl alcohol, the diallyl ether of trimethylenethane, the diallyl ether of trimethylolpropane or the triallyl ether of pentaerythritol, and/or (IV) allylamine, diallylamine, methylallylamine or N-allylamine; (where R is alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl or sulphonyl; R1 is H, alkyl or CH2OCH2CH=CH2; R2 is H, alkyl, aryl or -CH2CH=CH2; x+y+z is 1-3; x is 0-3; y is 0-1.5; y is = x+z; and z is 0-3). The polyenes react with polythiols to give curable resins or elastomers of the polythioether polyurethane type. |
