titleOfInvention Organic phosphites and synthetic resin compns contng
abstract Vinyl chloride (co) polymers and olefine (co) polymers are stabilised by organic phosphite esters having at least one polycarbocyclic phenolic group attached to each phosphite group. The ester may be of formula:- where Ar is a carbocyclic aromatic nucleus, at least one Ar has a free phenolic OH group, Z is H or a mono- or bi-valent organic radical, at least one Z being aliphatic or cycloaliphatic. Y is a bivalent radical other than -S- or -(S)x-. m is 1-5, x is 1-10. Suitable amounts are 0.005 to 5% by weight.
