abstract | Aliphatic alpha-(1-acylated 2-methylindolyl-(3)) carboxylic acids (I) R2=H or (9C) hydrocarbon, such as alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl; R3=H, alkyl or alkenyl; R4=H, halogen, alkyl, or alkenyl; R5=H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, cyano, halogenoalkyl, hydroxyl, mercapto, benzylmercapto, substituted benzylmercapto, opt. substd. benzyloxy, dialkylsulphonamido, cycloalkyl or cycloalkylalkoxy; A=opt. substd. aroyl or heteroaroyl with less than 3 condensed rings. Anti-inflammatory activity and effective in the prevention and inhibition of granuloma-tissue formation. May also be used in the treatment of arthritis and dermatological, etc. diseases which react to treatment with anti-inflammatory agents. |
