titleOfInvention System for milking a dairy animal
abstract 13 EXTRACT A robotic milking system comprises a robotic milking device with a milking container for collecting and temporarily storing the milk meal, a heat exchanger connected to the milking container via a milk line, milk pumping means for from the milking container, and through the heat exchanger, moving the milk, medium pumping means for counter-flow. displacing a heat exchange medium with the milk through the heat exchanger, and a control for at least the pumping means. The heat exchanger comprises a closed housing with an outer wall and a concentric inner wall with an annular inner space in between, a spirally wound inner tube for the milk in the inner space, with a milk supply and a milk outlet through the outer wall, and a medium supply connected to the inner space and a medium outlet. The robotic milking system is very flexible and yet energy efficient, because the heat exchanger can deal very efficiently with the medium that only flows in the annular inner space. In addition, the successive milking meals remain well separated, and cooling or heating can even be set efficiently per milking meal.
