titleOfInvention Prevention of Sb leaching from bottom ash.
abstract The invention relates to an improved process for the treatment of bottom ash, which prevents excessive leaching of Sb and render them suitable for open application. In the process according to the invention, bottom ash is treated by (a) providing an aqueous suspension of the bottom ash; (b) mixing the bottom ash suspension originating from step (a) with green rust and allowing Sb(V) to be reduced to Sb(III); and (c) introducing O2 into the mixture originating from step (b). The invention also concerns a mixture of bottom ash and green rust, for example as obtainable by step (b), and the treated bottom ash as obtainable by step (c), as well as the use of said bottom ash.
