abstract The water is passed through a treatment chamber (44) where it is disinfected using microwave radiation, without any significant increase in water temperature, before being returned to the pool. A method for disinfecting swimming pool water comprises passing the water through a treatment chamber where it is at least partially disinfected using microwave radiation, without any significant increase in water temperature. The treated water is then returned to the pool. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) Disinfection apparatus, comprising a treatment chamber with an outlet connected to a swimming pool inlet, as well as a microwave radiation generator (56); (B) Swimming pool equipped with this apparatus.
