titleOfInvention Method and device for treating swimming pool water.
abstract A process and assembly treats the continual flow of a swimming pool with an agent and then return it to the pool. A first stream (1) of water is drawn from the pool (2) and then subdivided into second (1) and third (7) streams. The third stream (7) is then subjected to treatment with a gas before it is returned to the main flow (1) and then the pool (2). The process comprises: (a) before the third stream (7) is treated with gas, an additive is introduced to the water which reacts with chemical precursors of chlorine impurities and oxidises or modifies them to gaseous products, and that the subsequent introduction of gas, especially air drives out the impurities; (b) the agents which are introduced into the water (7) are chlorine, chlorine-based agents, or other oxidation agents e.g. peroxide, and are applied in a concentration which is proportional to the presence of impurities; and (c) following gas treatment, the water is further treated with further agents as required, especially hydrogen carbonate.
