abstract | Method for removing hydrogen sulphide compounds from liquid sulphur by treating the liquid sulphur with a gas, where liquid sulphur undergoes at least two separate treatments with finely divided gas, and in each treatment, a recirculation system with gas lift is used. The possibility that a part of the liquid sulphur not undergoing any treatment is minimised. Also claimed are an apparatus suitable for removing hydrogen sulphide compounds from liquid sulphur and a method, where the degassing compartment comprises means for creating at least two zones of rising sulphur by introducing finely divided gas into the sulphur. |
