abstract The present invention relates to new methods of treating heart failure comprising administering an amount of strescopin-like peptide to a subject in need thereof; and maintaining substantially the amount of said peptide present in the plasma of said subject at a concentration that results in therapeutic benefit without a substantial increase in the heart rate of said subject. The method involves the use of strescope-like peptides that are selective antagonists of the corticotrophin-releasing hormone receptor type 2 (CRHR2).
