abstract | THE INVENTION RELATES TO A DEVICE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ENDLESS MOLDED ARTICLES FROM A MOLDING COMPOUND SUCH AS A SPINNING SOLUTION CONTAINING WATER, CELLULOSE AND TERTIARY AMINE OXIDE. THE DEVICE (1) COMPRISES A NOZZLE PLATE (3) WITH EXTRUSION OPENINGS (4) THROUGH WHICH THE MOLDING COMPOUND IS EXTRUDED TO FORM SUBSTANTIALLY THREAD-SHAPED ENDLESS MOLDED ARTICLES (5). THE ENDLESS MOLDED ARTICLES ARE PASSED THROUGH AN AIR GAP (6) AND, IN A PRECIPATATING BATH (9), ARE PASSED TO A BUNDLING DEVICE (12) BY MEANS OF A DEFLECTING MEMBER (10), WHERE THEY ARE COMBINED TO FORM A FIBER BUNDLE. A QUENCH AIR DEVICE (14) IS PROVIDED IN THE AIR GAP, WHICH DIRECTS IN A DIRECTION TRANSVERSE TO THE DIRECTION OF THE THROUGH-PASSAGE (7) A COOLING GAS STREAM TO THE ENDLESS MOLDED ARTICLES (5). FOR IMPROVING THE SPINNING SAFETY AND THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE ENDLESS MOLDED ARTICLES IT IS PROVIDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INVENTION THAT A FIRST SHIELDING PORTION (20) IS ARRANGED DIRECTLY TOWARDS THE EXTRUSION OPENINGS (4), BY WHICH THE EXTRUSION OPENINGS ARE SHIELDED AGAINST THE INFLUENCE OF THE COOLING GAS STREAM.(FIG 1) |
