titleOfInvention INTEGRATED DEVICE FOR WATER DECONTAMINATION AND ELECTRICAL ENERGY PRODUCTION.
abstract It consists of a photocatalytic-photovaltaic hybrid system comprising a photocatalytic reactor (2) made of a material transparent at least to the visible radiation coming from the sun and containing a photocatalyst of titanium dioxide, iron (II) or iron (III), superimposed on a photovoltaic panel (3), both on the same support (4) capable of being able to lean at an angle (10) suitable to optically take advantage of the incident radiation. The photocatalytic reactor (2) protects the photovoltaic panel (3) from solar ultraviolet and infrared radiation that are absorbed by the photocallizer and water respectively. A recirculation pump (5), whose electrical supply is provided by the photovoltaic panel (3), ensures the flow of water through the photocatalytic reactor (2) which additionally cools the photovoltaic panel (3). Of special use for water purification in remote places.
