| abstract | The present invention provides a method for a selective increase in a release rate at a later stage of the release period of an active material from a pharmaceutical controlled release composition comprising an active material and a lipid material that fixes said active material. , comprising the step of: adding an inflatable organic disintegrant selected from the group consisting of potato starch, corn starch, wheat starch, tapioca starch, pregelatinized starch, physically modified amylose, modified potato starch, amylopectin, sodium glycolate of starch, sodium amylopectin glycolate, croscarmellose sodium, calcium carmellose, calcium alginate, crosslinked dextran and formaldehyde-casein, in an amount of 3 to 20 percent by weight, based on the total weight of the pharmaceutical release composition controlled, to a lipophilic matrix comprising an active material fixed in a lipidic material or; and a controlled release pharmaceutical composition having a modified release profile such that it comprises an active material, a lipidic material that fixes said active material and an inflatable organic disintegrant mentioned above, in an amount of 3 to 20 percent by weight. |
