abstract The present invention relates to methods for isolating cells or generating cell lines using signaling test solutions that produce a signal at the time of hybridization to a white sequence. Other methods that use the test solution for signaling include methods to quantify the level of RNA expression, methods to identify cases of genetic recombination in living cells, and methods to generate a transgenic animal using isolated cells. The invention also provides protease assay solutions. Test solutions are provided for signaling and protease test solutions that form germ-loop structures, three branch link structures, and halter structures.
