titleOfInvention | DEVICE FOR HOLDING AN ELEMENT FOR FLUIDS. |
abstract | The fastening of an element that is under the pressure of a fluid requires special precautions, in case the element is constituted by a hard and fragile material, and can be destroyed by locally high stresses. A similar fluid element, for example silicon / glass, is arranged in an elastomeric molded part, for example silicone rubber, the contour of which is adapted to the external contour of the element and the internal contour of a fastener. The elastomer molded part is chamfered, in its pressure face, in the direction of the fluid element. When assembling the fastener, the elastomeric molded part is deformed by an existing projection in the counterpart, and acquires a uniformly distributed internal tension, after which the elastomeric molded part surrounds the fluid element throughout its height. Thanks to this "floating fastener" no inadmissible local voltage peaks originate, and deformation of the element does not occur. The clamp is tight against the fluid, even if the fluid pressure changes repeatedly from a very small value to several hundred bars. The fastener is especially suitable for a fluid element consisting of glass or silicon, in miniaturized execution. The fastener is used, for example, in the medical technique for a nozzle in a miniaturized sprayer, in order to produce an aerosol or a mist without propellant gas, and to subcutaneously inject without needle a liquid containing a medicinally active substance. |
