abstract | Systems and methods for producing branched aliphatic alcohols are described. The systems may include a hydrogenation unit, a dehydrogenation-isomerization unit, a hydroformylation unit and / or combinations thereof. Methods for producing branched aliphatic alcohols may include isomerization of olefins in a process stream. Isomerized olefins can be hydroformylated to produce aliphatic alcohols. After the hydroformylation of the aliphatic alcohols, the unreacted components of the hydroformylation process can be separated from the products of aliphatic alcohols. Unreacted components of the hydroformylation process can be recycled back to the main process stream or sent to other processing units. Multiple currents can be added to the units to control the reaction conditions in the units. |
