titleOfInvention OPHTHALMIC COMPOSITIONS OF INHIBITING PROTEINS OF CITOCINES INVOLVED IN INFLAMMATORY OR IMMUNOLOGICAL PROCESSES.
abstract The invention relates to new ophthalmic compositions of topical use with proven stability whose active ingredient is a protein molecule capable of blocking the activity of cytosines or factors involved in ophthalmic processes of inflammatory type, of angiogenic type, or in acute rejection of grafts Among the pro-inflammatory cytokines, tumor tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF (), and endothelial vascular growth factor (VEGF) as a potent angiogenic agent have a particular role, so compositions whose active ingredient are proteins that have particular preference neutralize the biological activity of these two cytokines. The active proteins may be monoclonal or polyclonal, natural or recombinant antibodies or biologically active fragments thereof comprising Fv, Fab, F (ab ') 2 or scFv, and which are capable of avoiding or minimize the phenomenon of rejection of transplantation of biological tissue, in particular of ocular tissues including the cornea.
