Some chemical compositions provide properties of repellency, durability and release of dirt (stains) when a cloth or genre is applied. The compositions may contain a dirt-releasing component, which contains a fluorochemical, or a cross-linking component, or both, and may also contain an antimicrobial agent. In some publications, the crosslinking component may be hydrophobic, so that, in general, it is not compatible with aqueous environments. Compositions having less than about 6 percent by weight of a dirt-releasing component, which contains a fluorochemical, based on the weight of the treatment composition, can be used in some applications. |
