abstract |
Pore clogging is reduced when an air flow-resistant membrane is laminated to a thermoplastic hot melt adhesive, by treating the membrane to reduce its surface energy. This allows the manufacture of acoustic laminates that incorporate substantial amounts of manufacturing waste from recycled fibrous insulating meshes and allows the design of the laminate based primarily on sound absorption considerations in a quarter wavelength and controlling the porosity and interfacial adhesion of the airflow resistant membrane. |
