An absorbent article is presented that includes an upper canvas, a lower canvas and an absorbent core located between the upper and lower canvases. The upper canvas has a first side and a second side with the first one facing the body and the second in communication with the fluids, with the absorbent core. The upper canvas also has a relatively hydrophobic component and a second relatively hydrophilic component; the relatively hydrophilic component extends through the relatively hydrophobic component and both are arranged on both sides of the upper canvas. The absorbent article has a fluid saturation value of less than about 94 mg, an absorption rate of discharges of at least 0.10 ml / sec. when tested according to the Discharge Absorption and Fluid Saturation Test Method. |
