titleOfInvention SYNTHETIC ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITIONS, WITH LOW FREE FORMALDEHYDE CONTENT, STABLE OF ALDEHIDO DONORS AND HYDROACETIC ACID.
abstract The present invention provides a synergistic antimicrobial composition, with a low content of free, stable formaldehyde and a method to inhibit the development of, or reduce the number of microorganisms by applying the composition. Preferably, the constituents are demethylol dimethylhydantoin, monomethylol demethyl hydantoin, dimethylhydantoin and dehydroacetic acid or salts thereof. The composition has a free formaldehyde content of less than 0.2% and is beneficial for controlling microbiological and fungal contamination in personal care products, household products and industrial products and systems.
