NOT WOVEN THAT CONTAINS LAMINATE OF ACOUSTIC INSULATION. |
abstract |
The present invention relates to an acoustic insulation material that contains a first layer formed of a nonwoven fabric having a density of at least 50 kilograms per cubic meter, wherein the nonwoven fabric is formed of thermoplastic fibers [blown with fusion] that have an average fiber diameter of less than about 7 microns; and a second layer of a high sponge material. The high foam material of the present invention provides volume to the first layer and may or may not have sound attenuation properties. Examples of high sponge material include, for example, fiberglass fabrics and nonwoven fabrics of high sponge. It is also described in a method of attenuating sound probes that pass from a sound source area to a second area. The method includes placing an acoustic insulation material that contains a first layer formed of a nonwoven fabric having a density of at least 50 kilograms per cubic meter where the nonwoven fabric is formed of thermoplastic fibers [blown with fusion ] having an average fiber diameter of less than about 7 microns; and a second layer of a high fluff material between the sound source area and the second area. |
