abstract The invention relates to novel antiretroviral sulpholipids extracted from spirulins, a method of obtaining them, compositions containing them and using them as inhibitors of HIV-1 and HIV-2. The invention also relates to a sulfolipid-rich spirulina biomass having an activity that inhibits HIV-1 and HIV-2 reverse transcriptase, as well as the use of said sulfolipids or a sulfolipid-rich spirulina biomass to prepare a medicine for the prophylactic or curative treatment of AIDS.
