titleOfInvention | COMPLEMENT OF THE HORMONE OF LIBERATION OF THE HORMONE OF GROWTH TO TREAT SUBJECTS CHRONICALLY SICK. |
abstract | The present invention pertains to compositions and methods for plasma-mediated complement. The compositions and method are useful for retarding tumor growth, and retarding cachexia, wear, anemia and other effects that are commonly associated in animals that carry cancer. In summary, the embodiments of the invention can be made by providing an effective amount of a nucleic acid expression construct encoding a GHRH or functional biological equivalent thereof in a tissue of an animal and allowing the expression of the gene encoded in the animal. . For example, when such a nucleic acid sequence is supplied in specific cells, tissue-specific constitutive expression is achieved. In addition, external regulation of the GHRH or its functional biological equivalent can be carried out by using inducible promoters that are regulated by molecular exchange molecules, which are given to the animal. The preferred method of supplying the inducible or constitutive nucleic acid encoding the GHRH sequences or the functional biological equivalents thereof, is directed to the animal's cells by the electroporation process in vivo. In addition, a treatment to retard tumor growth, and delay cachexia to the effects of wear that are commonly associated with tumors, is achieved by the supply of recombinant GHRH or biological equivalent in the animal. |
