Inhalant anesthetics are developed with a number of properties that include rapid onset and recovery, control and ideally, a broad safety profile. The effectiveness of these agents is measured by their ability to create anesthesia within the framework of other desirable properties. The instant invention focuses on the level of dosage where anesthesia occurs but amnesia or lack of awareness does not. In addition, to identify the dosage level where pain is precisely reduced or eliminated but consciousness remains, a release system for safe and effective release of the agent is described. |
