METHOD AND APPARATUS OF ENDOPROTESIS TREATMENT. |
abstract |
Manual manipulation of endoprotesis before implantation results in external body contamination and increased neointimal hyperplasia. Commercially available sterile endoprosthetic rinsing with elevated pressure immediately prior to implantation, removes residual surface contaminants from the endoprotesis and reduces inflammation produced by the endoprosthetic struts. The ex vivo expansion of the endoprotesis and surface analysis revealed that the rinsed endoproteses had surface contaminating ores that the endoprotesis managed or untouched. In a model of swine endoprosthetic restenosis, rinsed endoproteses produced less inflammation and less neointimal hyperplasia in one month than untouched and managed endoproses. Rinse with coronary endoprotesis pressure immediately before implantation reduces inflammation and neointimal hyperplasia. |
