Dental products such as toothpastes, mouthwashes and dental floss are described, which are improved by having dissolved, dispersed or coated therein, a compound which has promoted bone growth. Preferred compounds that are peptide sequences comprising 10 to 50 amino acids are described. The sequences are characterized by containing an integrin binding pattern, such as an RGD sequence and the remaining amino acids adjacent to the RGD sequence in the matrix extracellular phosphoglycoprotein. The sequences can be formulated to be dispersed in a toothpaste or mouthwash and administered to increase bone / tooth growth. When dental products are used repeatedly, they increase good dental health over time. |
