IDENTIFICATION AND USE OF PRECURSORY ENDOTHELIAL CELLS DERIVED FROM OSEA MEDULA TO IMPROVE THE FUNCTION OF THE MYOCARDIUM AFTER ISCHEMICAL DAMAGE. |
abstract |
The present invention provides a method for stimulating vasculogenesis of tissue damaged by myocardial infarction in a subject comprising: (a) removing undifferentiated cells from a site in the subject; (b) recover endothelial precursor cells in undifferentiated cells; (c) introduce the endothelial precursor cells from step (b) at a different site in the individual so that the precursors migrate to the tissue and stimulate revascularization thereof. Undifferentiated cells can be removed directly or by mobilization. Endothelial precursor cells can be expanded before introduction into the subject. The present invention also provides a method for inducing angiogenesis in a peri-infarction tissue. The present invention also provides a method for selectively increasing the traffic of endothelial cell precursors derived from human bone marrow to the site of tissue damaged by ischemic damage comprising: (a) administering to a subject endothelial precursor cells; (b) administer chemokines to the subject so that they attract endothelial cell precursors to the ischemic tissue. The present invention provides a method for stimulating vasculogenesis or angiogenesis of tissue damaged by myocardial infarction in a subject comprising injecting allogenic undifferentiated cells into a subject. The present invention also provides a method for improving myocardial function in a subject who has suffered a myocardial infarction comprising any of the present methods. The present invention also provides a method for improving myocardial function in a subject who has suffered a myocardial infarction which comprises injecting G-CSF or anti-CXCR4 antibody into the subject in order to mobilize endothelial precursor cells. |
