abstract | The invention relates to a regulatory element for modifying gene expression in transgenic plants, to nucleotide-increasing and repressor sequences obtained from non-coding regions of a sucrose transporter gene, and to appropriate promoters for use in a regulatory element for modify gene expression in transgenic plants. The aim of the invention is to provide means to manipulate the expression of plant genes, for example to control the processes of transport, storage and growth in plants. This problem is solved by a regulatory element comprising a promoter and a nucleotide sequence, in which said nucleotide sequence is a nucleotide augmenting and / or repressor sequence comprising a non-coding region of a sucrose transporter gene. |
