titleOfInvention ABSORBENT ARTICLE THAT HAS A GRADIENT OF CAPACITY TO BREATHE SIDE IN USE.
abstract A disposable absorbent article is provided which includes an essentially liquid impervious outer shell, a liquid permeable body side liner, an absorbent body located between the outer shell and the body side liner, and a pair of fasteners located above the laterally opposite side edges in one of the waist sections of the absorbent article. The outer shell can be configured to provide an essentially permanent deformation of at least about 10% when subjected to a tensile force of 100 grams force by 2.54 centimeters wide according to the elongation stress test and material deformation as stated here. The outer shell can also define a water vapor transmission rate of at least about 800 grams per square meter for 24 hours. The permanent deformation of the outer cover in use may result in a gradient of lateral breathing capacity between the outer cover in the waist section and the crotch or intermediate section of the article of at least about 1.25 according to the Product deformation test as stated here.
