An integrated process to prepare an aromatic compound substituted by C2-5 alkenyl, using as raw materials a C6-12 aromatic compound and C2-5 alkane. The process comprises feeding a C2-5 alkane, for example ethane, and an aromatic compound substituted by C2-5 alkyl, for example ethylbenzene, to a dehydrogenation reactor for concurrent dehydrogenation to a C2-5 alkene, for example ethylene , and an aromatic compound substituted by C2-5 alkenyl, for example styrene; separating the effluent from dehydrogenation to recover a gaseous stream containing alkene, hydrogen and alkane and to recover aromatics with high efficiency; feeding the gas stream and a C6-12 aromatic compound to an alkylation reactor to obtain the corresponding aromatic compound substituted by corresponding C2-5 alkyl, which is recycled to the dehydrogenation reactor; subjecting the ventilation current of the alkylation unit containing alkane and hydrogen, to a separation step to recover alkane, which is recycled to the dehydrogenation unit; hydrogen, which is recovered in a chemical purity grade of 99 percent; and energy |
