titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR THE DECOMPOSITION OF SUBPRODUCTS WITH HIGH POINT EFFICIENCY OF PRODUCTS IN THE SYNTHESIS OF POLYHYDIC ALCOHOLS. |
abstract | The invention relates to a method for improving the yield in the production of polyhydric alcohols, by hydrogenation of hydroxymethylated alkanes, by decomposition of the derivatives of these alcohols. Ppm up to 1% by weight, preferably 100 to 1000 ppm of a suitable acid are added to a water-free mixture, containing these derivatives, the resulting mixture is heated to a temperature of 100 to 300 ° C and the polyvalent alcohol is separated by distillation. The aforementioned method allows a simple and effective way to decompose the unwanted compounds that are formed during this synthesis and that boil at a temperature higher than that of polyhydric alcohol. |
