titleOfInvention ENDOTRACHEAL AND MULTIPLE SET WITH VALVE.
abstract The present invention relates to an improved fin valve or other internal component for use with the manifold and respiratory suction catheter assemblies. The flap valve or other internal component provides the assembly with an improved mechanism for cleaning the catheter tip without pulling an excessive amount of air from the breathing circuit to which the endotracheal catheter is attached. More specifically, the present invention mainly relates to a closed suction endotracheal catheter system that provides improved catheter cleaning while minimizing air pulling from the patient's ventilation circuit by providing at least one protrusion over At least one surface of the flap valve or other internal component. By using a flap valve or other internal component with at least one protuberance, the flap valve or other internal component is reinforced and designed to prevent the fin from scraping the mucus or other secretions from the catheter onto the distal surface of the fin during retraction. In addition, when multiple bulges are formed there, the formation of a bridge between each protuberance will improve the ability of the protuberance to improve the cleanliness of the assembly by scraping the mucus and secretions from the retraction catheter while reinforcing the flap valve so that it will not deform when moving to the catheter through the whole.
