A process for producing monomer of vinyl chloride from ethane having significant amounts of both ethane and ethylene entering the affiliated reactor inlet streams where the hydrochloric acid in the reactor effluent is reacted in a second reaction after the ethanolethylene reaction in vinyl. The steps of: catalytic reaction of oxyhydrochlorination of ethane, ethylene, hydrochloric acid, oxygen and chlorine are presented; cooling the reactor effluent stream to provide a stream of crude product with unreacted hydrochloric acid; separation of the crude product in a vinyl chloride monomer product stream and in a light stream having hydrochloric aggregate; and oxychlorination of hydrochloric acid from the light stream before recycling. |
