titleOfInvention HYDRATION AND TOPOGRAPHY MEASUREMENTS, FOR SCULPTING WITH LASER.
abstract Improved systems, devices and methods that measure and / or change the configuration of a tissue surface, particularly for use in laser eye surgery, are disclosed. The invention takes advantage, generally of the fluorescence of the tissue in, and immediately underlying, the surface of the tissue. The excitation energy can be easily absorbed by the tissue, within a small tissue depth, and can be provided from the same source used for the photo-decomposition of the tissue. This invention also takes advantage of changes in the fluorescence spectrum of a tissue, in correlation with changes in the hydration of said tissue.
