abstract |
A method for improving the initial strength of cements is described, which comprises introducing into a cement, preferably during grinding thereof, (a) at least one water reducer comprising a polyoxyalkylene polymer; (b) a sugar; and (c) an alkaline earth or alkali metal chloride. In other exemplary embodiments, the polyoxyalkylene polymer preferably comprises a honeycomb polymer having a skeleton and pendent groups. Optionally, an amine can be included with the additives. Exemplary additives and cementitious cements and compositions, preferably mixed cements, and more preferably the pozzolanic cements comprising the additives are also described. |
