abstract | The present invention relates to a release coating composition that can be applied to a film that can then be used as a useful substrate for applications that require release for a wide range of temperatures and high humidity conditions, whose temperatures may be in the range from about 20 ° C to about 210 ° C. These applications include release substrate used in the manufacture of cured rubber sheet, calendered, and molding compound, such as sheet molding compound (SMC), coarse molding compound (TMC), compound bulk molding (BMC) and fiberglass composites. The composition of the release coating comprises a solution of a hydroxypropyl methylcellulose having a hydroxypropyl molar substitution of 0 to about 0.82. In a preferred form, particulate solids are present in the composition. |
