The method for processing soot containing one or more rare earths is presented, where this soot is contacted with an oxygen-containing gas. The method comprises (a) preparing an aqueous phase comprising a dispersion of at least one oxygenated metal compound; (b) contacting, simultaneously or consecutively, the suspension of step (a) with the organic phase including at least one amphiphilic agent and preferably an organic mixture or compound as solvent; and (c) recovering the organic phase; the oxygenated metal compound is produced by means of a method according to which a solution is prepared that includes at least one rare earth salt, which is usually acetate and / or chloride; the solution is contacted with basic medium and the resulting reaction mixture is kept at a basic pH; the precipitate that forms is recovered by spraying or by freeze-drying. This method is useful for inorganic synthesis and catalysis. |
