An improved cosmetic, which employs a color agent and a plasticizer in a volatile solvent, including a film-forming agent, which preferably has Amphomer and ethyl cellulose as components, as well as a cosmetic pigment. The resulting cosmetic is insoluble in water and has a longer staying power than that of a conventional lipstick. The novel cosmetic, once it dries, does not run or come off on beverage containers, in such or on human skin. The finish is so transparent that the cosmetic can be applied in at least three successive layers without mass accumulation or cracking. Once applied in this way, while allowing each layer to dry between each successive application, a person can take a shower, swim, smoke, kiss or drink without leaving cosmetic stains on coffee cups, cheeks or necklaces. Compositions are also supplied to enhance the finish of the cosmetic. These compositions transform the cosmetic finish from a matte finish to a highly shiny finish. Finishing enhancing compositions also moisturize and condition lips, may include protective compounds. Compositions are also provided to improve the color of the cosmetic. The present invention also relates to formulations for removing the above lip composition. Kits or kits including the above compositions and methods of using these compositions are also provided. |
