abstract The invention relates to a method for the transformation and regeneration of legumes of the Cyamopsis genus, in particular to the transformation of guar mediated by Agrobacterium (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba, by introducing a recombinant DNA sequence, into at least one cell or protoplast and the generation of genetically modified explants, using at least one root selection or growth medium, comprising at least one compound selected from an auxin inhibitor, for example 2- (p-chlorophenoxy) -2-methylpropionic acid ( PCIB), a beta-lactamase inhibitor, for example sulbactam, and an ethylene inhibitor, for example silver thiosulfate, to obtain a generically modified plant or part thereof, containing in your genome, at least one sequence of Recombinant DNA; to genetically modified plants produced by the method; and to the use of substances such as the beta-lactamase inhibitor, sulbactam, for fac illite the transformation of the guar and other plants.
