titleOfInvention STERILIZATION WITH PERACETIC ACID.
abstract This invention is directed to the sterilization of collagen and collagen-producing tissue, which are used for implantation, repair or use in a mammalian host, in the recent field of tissue engineering. Sterilants are low concentration peracetic acid solutions, either neutral or with high ionic strength, that prevent or minimize the swelling of collagen, or the tissue that produces collagen, so that the sterilized tissue retains its structural integrity and bioremoldable properties. .
