titleOfInvention CORNEA TEMPLATE AND SURGICAL PROCEDURE FOR CORRECTION OF REFRINGENT VISION.
abstract A method for selective removal of corneal tissue (10), and the change of its curvature, for correction of refractive vision, by means of a correction template (20) together with a micro-keratome (32) of jet of high pressure flat cutter. The correction template is adapted to provide a flat cutting guide, in the corneal tissue for the required refrigerant correction, with the template being configured with a non-planar surface of the predetermined configuration (relative to the desired correction). The non-flat surface of the insole conforms to the area of the cornea to be corrected coolant, whereby the corneal tissue to be refringently corrected, whereby the corneal tissue to be removed is selectively deformed in order to to conform essentially and be held against the non-flat surface. The application of a vacuum between the insole and the cornea helps this retention. The waterjet micro-keratome in a layer-like configuration provides a complete, non-exploratory cross-sectional cut through the corneal tissue at a position adjacent to the insole, such that the release of the insole from corneal tissue results in the under-formed configuration of the cornea having the desired correction. The use of the waterjet micro-keratome provides a smooth and polished corneal tissue cutting surface that is essentially equivalent to that of the original surface.
