titleOfInvention DENTAL CLEANING SOLUTIONS.
abstract A composition useful for removing and cleaning an oral denture from organic residues that interfere with the activity of the dental material, such as inhibiting the healing of silicone-based impression materials. The composition is useful for cleaning the provisional adhesive of a denture before permanently adhering a crown, a cap, an inlay or the like to it, and removing residues of contaminating gloves or the like from a denture before removing an impression. One method of preparing an impression of a denture in the oral cavity, by removing inhibitors left behind by latex gloves that interfere with platinum-catalyzed hydrosilation reactions, includes applying the decontaminating composition that includes surfactants, especially a surface-active agent of polyoxyethylene, hydrogen peroxide and water, to the area to which the impression is to be taken, substantially and immediately before applying the impression receptor material. The composition is rinsed from the area and, after drying, the dental impression is removed which proceeds free of inhibition of the healing surface.
