Glucagon-like insulinotropic peptides analogs and derivatives are described (GLP-1 (7-37). Analogs include amino acid substitutions, amino and carboxyl terminal modifications, and C6-C10 acylations. The claimed compounds stimulate the secretion or biosynthesis of insulin in beta cells with low action and are therefore useful in the treatment of Type II diabetics. |
