PROCESS TO DECONTAMINATE OR STERILIZE AN ARTICLE WITH A COMPOSITION THAT CONTAINS PEROXIDE AND ANTIMICROBIAL AGENT. |
abstract |
This invention relates to a process for the decontamination or sterilization of an article contaminated with spores. The process comprises contacting the spores with a liquid sterilant for a period of time sufficient to effect a desired reduction (eg, at least a 4 log reduction) in the number of spores capable of reverting to vegetative growth. The liquid sterilant can comprise water, an antimicrobial agent (eg, peracetic acid), and a peroxide (eg, hydrogen peroxide). |
