titleOfInvention A METHOD TO MODIFY ALUMINUM SURFACE CHARACTERISTICS.
abstract Here, a method for modifying the characteristics of the alumina surface is described, said method comprising the steps of: (i) forming an aqueous mixture comprising a part by weight of alumina and an equivalent monomeric or polymeric Aluminum compound from 0.001 to 0.1 parts by weight of Aluminum content; (ii) balance the mixture for at least five minutes; (iii) increase the pH of the mixture from 6 to 8; and, (iv) drying said mixture, wherein said method comprises an additional step to increase the pH of the mixture from 3.0 to 5.0 between steps (i) and (ii) wherein said Aluminum compound is monomeric.
