titleOfInvention HYPERTENSION AND HYPERURICEMY.
abstract A method for the treatment of hypertension in a subject in need (in which, for example, such treatment does not cause an increase in serum uric acid levels, abnormally elevated serum uric acid levels, hyperuricemia, acid levels uric serum greater than 6 mg / 1, or the development of gout in the subject), the method comprising administering to the subject: a. a thiazide diuretic; and b. an inhibitor of organic anion transporter 4 (OAT4). The thiazide diuretic is selected from hydrochlorothiazide, bendroflumethiazide, benzothiadiazine, hydroflumethiazide, chlorothiazide, methiclotiazide, polythiazide, chlorthalidone, metolazone, indapamide, bumetanide, ethacrynic acid, furosemide or torsemide. The OAT4 inhibitor is 2- (5-bromo-4- (4-cyclopr opylnaphthalen-1-yl) -4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-ylthio) acetic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
