A METHOD TO PREPARE AN INDUSTRIAL YEAST, INDUSTRIAL YEAST AND APPLICATION TO THE PRODUCTION OF ETHANOL FROM, AT LEAST, A PENTOSA. |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a washing strain, characterized in that it comprises exogenous genes of the xylose metabolic pathway, wherein the exogenous gene of the xylose metabolic pathway present in the yeast strain consists of at least one copy of an exogenous gene. which encodes a xylose isomerase, and a copy of an exogenous gene that encodes a xylitol dehydrogenase, and because it has undergone a subsequent step of directed evolution comprising the following successive steps that consist in subjecting said yeast strain to: (i) a mutagenesis , (ii) a growth in cyclic cultures, under limited O2 in a medium comprising at least one pentose, especially xylose, and (iii) a selection by aerobic growth in solid medium containing glycerol as the sole carbon source. |
